Idk, maybe reading Painter of the Night first has ruined this for me, but I'm like 35 chapters in and all I can think about this story is that it's just Painter of the Night but Yoon is the one getting railed. They are just too similar. Don't get me wrong, there are some sizable differences, but the underlying theme of the story just seems to be utterly the same. Rich young Lord takes a liking to someone far beneath their station. They take them home with them. Bang them. Fall in love with them. Their bloody troubled past catches up with them as they try to hide their sodomy. People around them keep gossiping about them. The rich young Lord keeps murdering people without batting an eye. Family members are trying to get rid of them. It's literally the same story I'm disappointed cuz I do think the story is good, and it's so much better than most of the ones out there, but I just feel like I'm rereading something and it's boring me to tears. I might have to drop it, or give it much more time before I try to read it since I read Painter of the Night not too long ago.

I'm disappointed cuz I do think the story is good, and it's so much better than most of the ones out there, but I just feel like I'm rereading something and it's boring me to tears.
