i ride for hyesung, because shit it would be pissed too.
I will say i am in the mental health care field (and i work with couples) and I can understand why dojin is supporting his mother in law, he and hyesung are very family centered people. I wondering if dojin is supporting her so that hopefully in the future hyesung was to be able to repair the relationship with his mother when he was ready. Again dojin shouldn’t be betting on that but I understand his actions for doing so.
As for Byul he is also a bystander to an extent in this situation. He doesn’t understand what really went down between his mom and his grandmother to lead to such a sour relationship between the two. However, he does understand that what he’s doing is wrong because he hides it from both of his parents. He also only has one side of the story (his grandmas). He’s also going through another transition right now with learning to not be an only child anymore, that’s a huge shift for a teenager his age who up until this point had the attention from both his parents. AND we haven’t even explored his issues related to when he was an idol trainee! We saw a glimpse of what that must of been like for him and getting compared to his father.
All this is stay i know a lot of people have very black and white takes when it comes to judging or criticizing bl characters. Personally I love psychoanalyzing bl characters and this one is such a great example bc it’s not just a budding romance but a story about family.
