the promise was made on a different occasion (that has yet to be shown). 'that night' probably refers to the night when Yakuza clan disbanded and Jaeil decided to go to Korea taking Seunghyun with him (and couple of other people like Hanako and Zen)
In chapter /I don’t remember which one/ . Seunghyun asks yuta if he’s pissed becomes he did not come to get him “that night”. So my guess is probably that while yuta had been snatched by whatever old fart and his fucking gremlin ugly af bitch good for nothing step son. Yuta probably ended up reaching out to seunghyun to get help and get out except seunghyun didn’t and yuta had to do it alone and now he wants to take revenge??
