If you take the character's in-story perspective, you're absolutly right.
If you take the perspective that you're consuming content of fantasies, then it's bdsm just like roleplay when u play n-c scenario is.
I was saying from secon perspective, as a reader. Consent here is betweed me and author. That is was i meaning. I dont perceive it as bdsm representation in fiction but as fiction realising bdsm fantasy.
