Same thought. Rereading the parents meeting chapter, I realised what that butler said is true. No matter what, how troublesome it is or how annoying it is, his first rensponse is always the kids in the midst of situationship. Like, he had some spider sense when the kids are in danger. The fact he always manage to save them successfully must means he's actually really attentive of them all the time. Or his reflex is just that good. Quite a complexity.
I like the fact that though MC seems self-centered at times, he always protect the children first whenever something bad happens. While he doesn't seem loving and caring, I believe that he is actually like that deep down. It's just that he grew up with hardship, so he built a hard shell to protect himself.
