His sister was actually a big part of why he became easily influenced by criticism cause he knows how easily the public can turn on anyone in the spotlight. Rather than being famous, he wanted to become a beacon of hope to his sister as she was severely crushed by all these liars. He wanted her to see that he can hold his head up high while doing what he loves so that she can also take a step forward towards healing.
To be fair, I think the novel portrayed this part better, and I recall her being an art prodigy to the point where people called her the next Picasso or something like that.

like what a weird conclusion and train of thoughts. i wonder if this plot line was thought on the spot. imo it's better if we redirect the plot for the character back to what it originally was, him being easily influenced by online and fans centered emotions thay burdened him to a point where he is depressed.
