Would've given this a higher rating if it weren't for the rushed ending. A lot of things had been left abandoned and undiscovered when it could've been explored more to add in the world-building or at least explain things better. Like what really is the system, why was it there, what's its true purpose? Who that npc-like man who stole Jerry's brooch really was and why he ate it? What happened to Karyan and his likeability gauge? (honestly felt like all the other targets were discarded right after they are no longer essential parts of the story but most especially Karyan—he wasn't even removed from the target list yet ) What's up with Ilya's insurmountable magic prowess and mana? Why was Jerry overflowing with mana and why is it, as described by Sears, "alive"? If it weren't for the readers who read the novel and explained it here I wouldn't even know what in the world just happened and would've gone mad at another great story ruined by it's half-assed ending. Anyway, this was a really fun story, great plotline that will keep you interested throughout. I really read it in a day, that's how engaging it was. Reading this was a total breeze (just like the ending, unfortunately). Still recommend it though.
