The top comment switching up after defending this and insulting fujoshis made me lmfao. Yalls really don't need to force yourselves to like this just to hate on the BL fans.
I personally think authors writing gay -> straight pairings need to establish that their characters are okay with any genders. Especially in isekai romance genres where MCs romancing someone who already had a OGpartner is a common problem, adding another gender/sexuality crisis is a bit too much. If the author doesn't write it well then there's bound to be misrepresentation and lack of logic. It's fine to like a series if that change appeals to you, I mean, there's some BL where gay guys goes after straight men too(or vice versa when gay men realises they were straight and break up). However, the topic on sexuality is vast so it's hard to write. I haven't seen any good ones that explore this topic with enough sensitivity(maybe only in genderbenders), so I hope authors can put more care into the exploration if they want to use the genre as a main plotline.
Acknowledging criticisms is a valid response to improve reading spaces. Lets not be too harsh on fellow readers, it's a bad look.
