Exactly!! I don't like him either but this is so true , like no one here could say with confidence that if they went through this, they'd come out the other side of the tunnel as a fully decent and understanding person who's well aware of respect and how to treat someone you love , he had Noone that loved him not even his own family , how do you expect him to know what love feels like? It's no wonder he didn't figure out his own feelings sooner
The problem is not the characters but the way this story unfolded like the beginning is just full of smut and miserable one sided struggle like man 2 whole seasons for 4 years ofc ppl gonna hate him . The author throw his sad background in like 1 chapter so I get why ppl hate him
Yeah true, the pacing definitely didn’t do him any favors. The start made him seem like an asshole with zero depth, then his tragic backstory got dropped late as hell. If that had been shown earlier, I think people would’ve understood where he was coming from a lot more. Like his actions still suck, but at least they’d make sense. (Execpt for the SA parts , SA is never okay no matter what's your justification)
He also lack humanity and respect for dan like F buddy doesn't translate to rough sex and humiliating your partner there's many story out there with the same dynamic but at least the top actually suffers and chase his bottom but for JK it's doesn't happen
Dude trust me I don't like jaekyung either but u really cant blame him for turning out the way he is, huge temper and no sense of understanding or social awareness, he's always been lonely as a kid, his mom left him, his dad beats him up everyday, the kids bully and beat him up too, u think a dude like that would grow up to be a decent guy? Considering everything he's been through im surprised he's not worse than he is
