you can read/like whatever as long as you don't objectify people irl and have a clear distinction for reality/fiction. Twitter/tiktok crowd will jump me tho and say i support it irl which is stupid. I really find it annoying when others police what u can read or write.

There's a fine line between reading bl for the representation/plot and fetishizing two gay men and a lot of non-queer people use that line as a jump rope *cough cough straight women cough cough* I'm not saying that you can't read bl if you're not queer, but a lot of people fetishize bl in particular just because they like seeing two men together and not because it's a story with queer representation.
To be more specific, a lot of people have become so toxic about homosexuality that even in straight or yuri stories, people will complain about the lack of bl or say that two male best friends is queer baiting. Just saying...
