Damn that shit is so sad!!! I also totally get it. If I had a self-sacrificing partner I'd be worried to the extreme about the lengths they'd go to care for me. He describes recovery as hell, and I'm pretty sure he wasn't just talking about for himself. Caretaker's fatigue is a very real thing, and it can be really hard to deal with. If the end result was 90% that I'd die, I think I too would try to spare my partner the stress of caring for me in a state where I can't even talk. I probably would have explained myself tho, but I don't necessarily expect someone with a massive brain tumor to make the best decisions
