so what i understood from what's happening with all of this:
konrad picked jerome because of his sense of pride while fab because of his curiosity. the difference between the two is that jerome is mentally unstable and obsessed with konrad like he was his "god" + the fact that konrad was young and immature. while fab on the other hand had both showed konrad emotions and felt him emotions that are new to him that no other people could.
so i would say he loves fabian more and would pick him over jerome BUT i feel like there would be conflict since he'll feel pity towards jerome
