It was more like bro didn't really care about Yujin at all and only saw his mom. Kid Yujin is nothing became nothing but a nuisance for him.
I truly believe the dad loved only the mother that he just accepted that she wanted a kid out of love but his true heart and attention was only to her, making the kid just measly collateral
Reading the backstory made me wonder if the dad was actually abusive (I don’t remember any specific page alluding to abuse to be specific) — wondering if Yujin is just mostly plagued by guilt and his father was just a persistent reminder of his (in retrospect and the impartial perspective as a reader) negligence over his mother.
