Reading the backstory made me wonder if the dad was actually abusive (I don’t remember any specific page alluding to abuse to be specific) — wondering if Yujin is just mostly plagued by guilt and his father was just a persistent reminder of his (in retrospect and the impartial perspective as a reader) negligence over his mother.
I truly believe the dad loved only the mother that he just accepted that she wanted a kid out of love but his true heart and attention was only to her, making the kid just measly collateral
