Well the author tried to play it off with how he got back home and saw a picture of Mathew, saying they don’t look as similar as he thought. I’m trying to view it as since it’s been awhile that Mathew died, his memory could have jumbled along the way. He saw a muscular, tan, blonde and was reminded of him.
(This is with ignoring the art cause we can’t do much about the artist making them identical rather than just similar. Novels have more leeway with this kinda thing, since we wouldn’t have seen their looks.)
