R.I.P. actor Björn Andrésen (1955-2025), known for his role Tadzio in Luchino Visconti's DEATH IN VENICE (1971)—a role which resulted in the actor being dubbed the "most beautiful boy in the world" and catapulted him into fame in Japan. Following the film's release, Andrésen participated in ad campaigns in Japan and recorded music, becoming a Western idol in Japan. His likeness was a notable influence on shoujo manga as seen with characters like Riyoko Ikeda's Lady Oscar from "The Rose of Versailles" and Gilbert Cocteau from "The Poem of Wind and Tree".
