Well... It's not that easy (at least here). It's made very clear that the MC is gay, even if he hasn't mentioned it himself... you can already guess with the whole BL tag + him immediately thinking he'd have to get pregnant instead of impregnating a girl. ヾ(❀╹◡╹)ﾉ~
I think part of it is also a lack of control. If he has a surrogate, she has leverage over him to deliver the baby safely and can negotiate for control over the company or his other assets. If he gets pregnant he controls every aspect of the pregnancy and I’m sure custody would be a lot easier to determine if they ran into issues. This is just my assumption bc mc seems have some issues with control lol

That makes sense, I wish they would add that part of not having a surrogate, so the story really tells that he's the one who has to get pregnant. They have like three mentions of not wanting ml to be the father because he'll lack agency, I wish they would have like at least a tiny mention of other options not being possible for him either.
