Not really. But I guess the fact that it wasn't only about his illness but also about going to another country to start life anew, he might have thought it was too much on her... and he didn't know she was pregnant.
Still I think it was pretty selfish of him, not saying a thing and leaving : This is for the best; Says who? .... I could go on for a long time on this.
He doesn't even regret it. How can you not regret that stupid ass decision
