ML

I just began reading this today. I am honestly surprised as to how people are upset with ML? Did we not learn that he is not powerful as a king, he is a king in name.

Why does every ML have to be some op and powerful person? ML is not gonna come on time or be there on time, is he not a human being? I guess those readers are used to that. If anything, I’d like to see MC do things by himself that can help himself somehow. Not a damsel in distress.

How about we manifest the death of Lister and not waste time commenting about something that is explained already. ML deserves respect. And also someone posted these:

“I can’t stop laughing at the people who are upset or annoyed with Gjord for “not doing anything to help Sylhan,” as if he were a reader of the manhwa like us.
People, he doesn’t fully know about the abuse Sylhan has went through. Yes, he did see the wounds on Sylhan’s body, but even if he were to ask him directly, Sylhan wouldn’t open up and talk about everything that asshole has done to him.

It seems most people are also forgetting that Sir Gjord himself faces a lot of discrimination. “Why doesn’t he use the power he has?” but in reality, he’s only a king in name. He doesn’t hold nearly as much power as everyone assumes. Lord Khallak and the entire city despise him and want him either gone or dead. If he were to “save” Sylhan publicly, he’d be accused of countless crimes and could even be executed or exiled, all for interfering with the slave of a highly influential noble family in Khallak. Interfering with a family like that is politically very dangerous, even more if u are someone like Gjord.”

“He's a hated foreign king in a foreign kingdom that was set up in some run-down castle at the coldest, abandoned part of Khallak. He only has a handful of people assisting him (his cook, Ishmion, and like 2 other names he mentions). He has no servants, which is why his place is a mess. They move around Khallak with Ishmion's invisibility spell but they're otherwise at the beck and call of the Lord of Khallak.

He knows Lister was up to shit so he used that invisibility some chapters back to grab Lister's ankle and make him fall on the stairs so he broke his knee in hopes that'd make the abuse stop, but he can't just keep watch on him - though it seems he had Ishmion set up a chimera to possibly keep an eye on him. And if they are ever discovered to be using any magic, that ends in the death penalty. And it's clear the Lord of Khallak wants him dead- that's why he was assigned this suicide mission.

And even if he knew the truest extent of the abuse, what is there to do? He can't kill Lister.

Even if he can make it look like an accident, that leaves the giant question of what the Lord of Khallak would do about Sylhan who would then be free to do whatever unless/until Lysbet returns, especially if Lister was set up to abuse Sylhan so deeply by the Lord of Khallak - Lister can't be smart enough to come up with fucking with Sylhan's medicine by himself. AND it seems a good deal of his plan is wrapped up with Lysbet assisting him; would that fall through if Lysbet's little brother mysteriously died? It's just so risky.

What's better; Sylhan is abused in the short term but their plan succeeds and he is put back on the throne and all his enemies murdered, or his short-term abuse is prevented and he and Gjord and Ishmion and anyone else that assists Sylhan are promptly executed?”
