It can either go with 1. She goes with him willingly, 2. She didn't want to go with him but her brother is on the line, 3. She did hang out with him in a deeper waybut found it and fights 4. She fights against him before the relationship can deepened. When I say relationship, it can be any, like friendship or lawyer-client relationship, etc. I included 1 and 2 bc at some point , she saw them as insects like lawyer. Idk if the author showed bugs as annoying and you want to stomp on it, but I fucking hate bugs so I'd run for my dear life.
