like idek atp i hate every one of these dysfunctional siblings safe for seth.
The story keeps drilling in the point that every one of them has sinned yet seth is the only one that has to suffer for what he has done. Esp nephtys bringing up seth's murders as if the actual anubis didnt get almost fuckin skinned and repurposed because of her deal with osiris. Which seth had to suffer for in her place not only at osiris' hands, but also being cursed by isis jn turn.

i wouldnt mind it if eveyone genuinely suffered, but it genuinely feels like everyone else just gets to feel sorry for themselves while seth has to not only pay for his own sins, but also suffer everyone's missteps.

and like yh, ofc nephtys doesnt have to love seth anymore, but if she's gonna sit here talking abt all hes done then i think she deserved to get kicked around by isis a few more times. a lot more times

I agree, like I don't condone anything Seth did during his time as ruler obviously, but I agree as to why Seth is the only one who has to suffer. It's been hinted that many of the other gods like Ra and even Thoth know the truth behind Osiris' demise, and yet they allow it so Seth is the only one to blame for what happened when Osiris' 'death' was caused because of essentially self-defense (in romeo/juliet style). Adding onto the fact that I genuinely believe that no other god cares at all for Seth (minus Horus ofc), including his parents, and I've held that belief since the beginning when his mum sided with Isis, and the gods reactions to seeing Seth without his headdress on like it was a first time thing for them all.

And yeah, Nephythys doesn't have to love Seth again, and in a way, I'm glad she doesn't because even if the version of her that loved Seth was trapped inside a mirror, the question stands, whether she had deep feelings for Osiris as well since the moment she lost the part of her that loved Seth, she immediately had Anubis with Osiris.

Whether it was planned out or not, the other gods have a hand in the way Seth ended up, Osiris, Nephythys, Isis, his parents, Ra, Thoth and any of the others who refused to help him when he was clearly struggling. I mean, it's kinda funny how when Horus becomes king of Egypt, all the gods assist him in his ruling while he travels the country with Seth, but Seth never once had anyone step in to help him during his time of suffering. In my eyes, that makes them all accountable for what became of the humans in Egypt because any one of them had the power to prevent the human trafficking and the r*pe/m*rder of innocents and not one, not even Maat who is supposed to be the judicial ruler of the gods stood up and took action until all the attrocious actions occured - as if they were all waiting for someone else to deal with it (that being Horus, even though he didn't care about ruling Egypt), they all should be held responsible and the fact that it is only Seth who is genuinely suffering pmo so much.

Yep, the story still needs to address all of this stuff. I have a few theories for why some of that "had" to happen that way (many of them related to Thoth's old prophecy about two children of Nut changing Egypt, and with how Thoth said that all gods with foresight can't allow themselves intervene too much to change history, or the world order will severly punish them... and how Sekhmet's shady way of "helping out" might have been the only way that they could intervene, without being punished for it, or without somehow ending up making it all even worse than it already was...). But that's just speculation at this point, I guess we'll have to wait and hope we get the answers to all this, later in the story.

tbh ive been like ignoring the involvment (or lack thereof) of the other gods, mainly because Ra's disdain for the way this fantastic 4 offbrand chose to have families is enough explanation as to why she (and maybe other gods) didn't feel strongly about getting involved.

also i dont think that most gods would openly go against horus now that he's the king even if he wanted to storm into the afterworld, grab seth and put him back on the throne or something, so it makes sense why any gods that dont really have a concept of familial ties wouldn't like attempt to manhandle seth out of egyptian mass extinction. Like yea they've been helping horus, but theyre help for horus is self serving and it's only a thing at all because horus allows it.

but his siblings knew, the 4 treated each other as family. The same way isis could kick around nephtys when she's throwing her little pity party the same way they should've tried to do something for seth.

I like Isis more than Nephtys at least because she's had to face the fact the one she loved not only never really loved her, but was also a horrible person. She also has to live knowing she saw her brother getting abused and prioritised her feelings in the moment over doing anything for him. I think she at least has had to face the music in some way and genuinely repent for how she's wronged her brother all these years.

But like, Osiris is obv still on his same shit since forever so he's had like negative character arc happening, and now they're making another excuse for why erm actually Nephtys did nothing wrong and even if she did it wasnt her fault. Like literally for so long like all of s1 at least the story was that she wanted to fulfill seth's wish to have a child so she asked osiris, and now suddenly she was fucked over by a magical mirror and now that she's out all she has to say is shit like "i forgive you" to the man that is the only reason her son got to live for as long as he did. Actually pmo, never show her to me again

Bro, while it's true Seth sacrificed himself for Anubis in order to save Anubis' life many times, Seth is ALSO the reason Anubis committed suicide once (revealed in end of chapter 18 and explained in chapter 19), and the worse is at the time neither Seth nor Nephthys even realized their son was missing because he had DIED...

oh youre misunderstanding me, i never liked anubis, idgaf abt anubis. Like it sucks for him, in the past and how osiris is treating him now, but if thats what he chose for himself now then godspeed i guess.

my point is bringing up anubis isnt to say seth was a good father to him or that anubis thinks highly of him, just that at least in his mind hes the only one that like gave a fuck abt anubis, murder and all.

Lol, love your brutal honesty there hahaha ( I didn't use to like Anubis all that much either... -I do like his adult self a lot more cause he's a lot less wimpy - and I ALSO would have paid to see Isis to hit Nephthys A LOT MORE - because... who knows if doing that couldn't have helped Nephthys recover a lot earlier?)
