Tbh maybe im just too logical but I genuinely dont see the appeal to confessing to someone, especially your step brother, that you loved him especially when you *know* you've already moved on and like someone else?? I get that he wants to start a new page while properly closing the chapter on the previous one, but at best he will leave things on a super awkward note with his step brother, and at worst (which is what I expect), he will humor your feelings and it'll make things way more complicated bc you like someone else now.
