I think it's because my preference in stories is the exact opposite of this which is why reading these actually negatively affect my mood it's insane. I prefer when the ml feels hopeless because they are too in love and pines and cries. I think these stories actually were written to spite me no joke they are my nemesis

if we get just ONE MORE mc gets caught immediately I'm actually gonna loose it. The Heart of the Lotus and Toxin are driving me insane like this can't be legal. it's not fair I don't get why all these bls have semes just doing whatever they want and always getting the outcome they want and then I have to be forced to watch some pity childhood backstory. they lock the mc up, mc falls for them in some way or gets absolutely played with in the most humiliating way, and then whatever the mc plans the ml has to be some all-knowing entity that somehow can find them no matter where they go. Idk it's so unrealistic idk where the inspo for it comes from? then you wanna try and get ME to like the ml too like I'm supposed to feel something towards them cause they were abused as a kid? I DON'T CARE. I DON'T FUCKING CAREEE. like yes toxic relationships can add some variety but at this point it's sooooo overused and I'm exhausted. and like I get it, I have my one biases and will eat up a mc fell first ml regret story up in all it's retellings, but that's because I have a big ego and I like seeing mls desperate for their bfs.
