I didn't like either of them as characters individually, but honestly? I really like how messy their relationship is. I can see how people think a relationship between them wouldn't last, but personally, the ammount of struggle between these two mightbjust be what they need to actually mantain something long-lasting.
Truly, I think we were left on a great track at chapter 6 – we can see how Masumi had been avoiding gettng tangled with Mame because of his nature of "anyone is fine as long as they like me", and then finally Mame was the one wanting to fight for there to be ~something~ between them... I really, really liked that! And even if 6.5 doesn't answer exactly where their relationship stands, I think it gives enough clues to know they're somewhat on the right (for them).
I think theirs is a relationship that will take a good, long time to fully settle properly... So I think they gain more from starting with an undefined relationship (6.5). Especially since Masumi doesn't seem to like the full throttle of Mame's dedication into "romantic dates" 'n stuff (as seen when Mame first thought they started dating). If they reach domestic levels before they actually start going out proper, maybe it'll calm Mame down lol
They seem like a good match to me, too. They annoy the hell out of eachother but regardless of that, their relationship is very even. We can see they are both always looking for the other (wanting to spend time together that is), even with that pretend animosity they have. Personally I'm not fond of how rough their rough housing is, but we get glimpses of them being caring too so I'm kinda fine with it (I think)...

Anyways, ultimately, I really liked this one.
