I mean yes but no…

I overall did enjoy the story, I already mentioned that I like when they’re unhealthily obsessed so I didn’t mind that Seonjae was endgame.
However, the ending just fell flat for me. I don’t like that the author tried to make a redemption arc in such a short time and did it with the most overused cliches in all BL endings- the fucking hospital and sick shit, pisses me off every time.
I feel like an ending on the more bitter side would’ve been better.
They can say Seonjae changed, but I don’t believe that for a second. It’s not even the fact that the writing of the redemption arc is rushed, it’s just that it was so unbelievable, I’m not convinced even for a second (yes the redemption arc is really that bad).
I feel like if you already pair him up with Seonjae, an ending where Jihun accepts that he loves Seonjae and chooses to stay with him knowing he’s sabotaging himself but he can’t escape him no matter how hard he tried, is a more fitting ending, which is kinda what she did? but, it’s just a change in attitude towards their relationship, that it’s not sunshines and rainbows.
The author could have also paired him with Kiwung and then it would’ve been a proper happy ending but uh I guess that wasn’t on her mind at all.
