The reason why hyesung left is weightin more in terms of abuse and trauma compared to the fact that she has born him. that is no bond. otherwise every child given up for adoption would linger for their mom even if they dont remember and this is also not the case.

“No matter how awful she is, it’s still his mom.” Is crazy she quite literally left him with a rapist. He literally DOES NOT want anything to do with her, which is why he’s so upset that his own family is interacting with her.

And for dad, I don't think he was in contact with her at all, I guess he wanted to know about her. It's obvious hyesug still has some type of feeling for his mom that he hasn't heeled from, no matter how awful she is, it's still his mom
