It's fiction. Not real. It's wrong to do it in real, but again this is fiction. We don't have millenium snake raping people left and right in real, okie. This story cant happen in real so chillax or leave if this aren't your cuppa coffee.

I'm here for the art, story, and the world building. It's original and impressive, and Idc about woke complaints.

No one’s “calling out” a fictional character. People are calling out the writers and the constant use of rape as a plot device. There’s a difference between “it’s fiction” and “it’s fine.”
Fiction reflects real life values and shapes how people think — that’s literally what art does. So yeah, people are allowed to question why so many stories lean on sexual violence like it’s the only way to create drama or revenge. Being uncomfortable with that doesn’t make someone “woke,” it just means they have empathy and standards.

It’s funny how the people who keep saying “it’s just fiction” are always the most emotional about it. Like… if it’s really just fiction, why are you this pressed over someone not liking how rape is used in a story?
No one’s canceling your book or saying you can’t enjoy it — people are just saying they’re tired of rape being treated like a normal plot device. If that simple opinion makes you this defensive, maybe ask yourself why it hits so close to home.

lol who's the one writing all essay over a freaking fiction. Talking about being emotional! What. a. joke.

I have a standard. And that is sane enough, not delusional, not being dramatic over a violent scene to SEPARATE between reality and fiction.

If you want to talk about standard. Go cry to ALL fictions, TV dramas, documentary that include drugs, porn, killing, kidnapping contents in it. The double standard is a joke.

I rest my case. Go woke all you want, you're beyond help if you are unable to SEPARATE fiction and reality. Bye

Oh, I definitely hit a nerve.
You keep saying “it’s just fiction,” but you’re also writing essays about it. Either it’s meaningless and not worth arguing about, or it does matter — and people are allowed to criticize how it handles certain topics. You can’t have it both ways.

Also, comparing rape to murder or violence in fiction doesn’t really land. Those aren’t typically written as fetish fuel. The issue isn’t that bad things happen in stories — it’s how and why they’re used.

And calling people “woke” isn’t an argument; it’s just a way to avoid having one.

So yeah, if a simple take about an overused, gross trope got you this defensive, that says more about you than it does about me

you hit no nerve, I'm calm and just pointing out the facts the high standard you have you just nitpick it to your convenient. but all good, some people are crazy and i can't change that lol

I don't think that asking for no rape is high standard, but It’s okay if you don’t get it yet. Maybe one day, after you've grown a bit, you’ll understand where this kind of criticism comes from. Take care.

Yeah, I’ve never really understood why they get so worked up over people criticizing the rape aspect. They act like we’re attacking the entire book, but even when we make it clear that we’re only criticizing the rape part, they still get offended. It honestly makes me think you’re right — they probably do have a fetish for it.
