I have so many things to say about this manhwa but the first thing I wanna mention is that this was one of my best reads of 2025
When I first picked it up I chose it randomly but the reviews I saw about it were honestly terrible everyone kept saying it was mid or just plain bad and then I read it and OH MY GOD once again it proved to me that the most hated stories are exactly the ones that end up enchanting me the most
yeah, this story would seem bad if you go into it without understanding some basic psychology because it’s actually really deep and not easy to read if you can’t feel that depth, it might just look like 66 chapters full of crazy, unstable, immature characters hurting each other nonstop
1 < The most striking thing for me was how much the author emphasized the importance of childhood and how the smallest events during that time can shape who you become as an adult the flashbacks were perfectly placed and you could clearly see how each one connected to something happening in the present I’m pretty sure the author either has a psychology background or did some serious research
2 < The MC and ML didn’t just fall in love randomly and I loved that so much their relationship didn’t form just because time passed the way Minjae played the “savior” role for Taeyoung hit me deeply I could really understand the reason behind his obsession and all the sacrifices he made — it totally made sense and I loved how the author didn’t make Minjae fall in love just because Taeyoung helped him with revenge or chased after him the way Taeyoung touched Minjae’s inner child and filled the empty space left by his family was beautifully portrayed also I’m honestly in love with Minjae as a character this boy tried so hard to be a good person even after all the trauma even as an adult, with all his mistakes, a part of him still wanted to stay good he’s so precious to me, I just wanna hold him in my heart and protect him
3 < Unlike most comments here, I wasn’t disappointed that the revenge didn’t actually happen because it was clear that revenge was never the real goal Minjae just wanted to satisfy that bright side of himself he thought revenge would bring him peace, but he realized what he truly needed wasn’t revenge — and Taeyoung gave him exactly that
4 < This manhwa was honestly something extraordinary I’ll definitely reread it again and again writing a story like this could only come from a genius I can’t even recommend it to everyone, because if you don’t have some basic understanding of psychology or don’t read it with that mindset, it might not seem that great but if you do read it from that perspective, you’ll see how incredible it is a beautifully written masterpiece — I swear I wish I could go shake the author’s hand and thank them in person
