I don't know why everyone is confused???we're just following a person transmigrated as a prince(a villain) that have a terrible ending and to avoid that needs to go to the good side of the real prince(Edward) so Joffrey did all sorts of stuff that goes appositive to the real personality of the og owner of the body to the point he saved Alex just to be seen in a good light by Edward and us a countermeasure if something bad happens. It's also revealed that someone purposely planned the death of the mother of Edward, Joffrey suspected the Queen because of her hatred towards Edward but I guess it wasn't her, because of the Death of his mother and the promise of Joffrey with him contradicting each other, it formed a Gap between them that's why Edward said "I hate you, I wish you go somewhere that I won't see you ever again." (Or between that lines)Edward purposely avoided Joffrey throughout their childhood because of this but we all know he still cares for Joffrey (｡>﹏<｡). Anyways, at present, Joffrey is confused because Edward just talked to him and like trying to mend their relationship and this is totally opposite of how Edward treated him in recent years that's why he's confused, he thought Edward still hate him that's why he said that in the hunting competition that it would be unfortunate if Edward comes back alive (Said by edward) and also about the King suddenly looks older, gurl it's time skip, the Hunting Competition probably happened years ago or something and the King is younger back there and now the war is over probably years passed that's why the age of the king also advanced, the king is Older than the Queen in the first place and he was groomed at the hunting competition that's why he looks younger compared to now which looks like a dead '-' ngl. Correct me if I'm wrong though I just scraped what I know hahahha
