luke is actually out of his damn mind bro as an optimist, i understand wanting to give people a chance and assume the best rather than the worst of them, but when you keep having to make excuses for another person's bad behavior, it makes YOU look stupid and untrustworthy ☹ you can't call a person's consistent sabotage of you a mistake, even more so when you literally know that he's doing everything he's done to you with intention because that makes it even worse lmao. being overly suspicious and skeptical is also not a good way to approach others, which is why balance needs to be struck and why luke and andrew are foils to one another. that being said, i would really really really hate for luke to have to find out the hard way that not everyone is deserving of his trust just because they've been friendly to him previously, and i would hope that bruno would reconsider his behavior but his continuing to hide the chip from luke doesn't instill much faith in me lmao. if this turns out the way i think it's about to turn out, this isn't about to end well for anyone involved

Here’s my perspective. Luke’s stance is more neutral than full blown forgiveness. His stance on good people having bad moments isn’t to let go of the “mistakes” but to leave room for “redemption” or from Andrew’s perspective danger. I’ve known a lot of good people who got to very low points (addiction, abusive relationships, etc) in their lives that weren’t very good to me at those times. Actually put me in dangerous positions. Some picked themselves up and made amends and some I had to let go. But never have I regretted being there for a friend when they were obviously battling something. If Luke’s not ready to let go of the relationship and wants to give Bruno the chance to prove his faith in his good nature wasn’t misplaced allow him. He knows now what Bruno has been up to and should at least have his guard up with him but Andrew harping on about the rest of his friends sounds like just a push to isolate him. Andrew may want only Luke but Luke has a thriving social circle and connections outside of Andrew that are just as important to him and he has to come to terms with that.

i don't disagree entirely (what i do disagree with is the notion that andrew is actively trying to isolate luke from All of his friends; i think andrew is just not expressing himself very well in this regard, and his skepticism over bruno in conjuction with his attachment to luke is making it look like he's telling luke that all of his friends are out to get him when he's really just saying he himself doesn't need anyone but luke despite luke's efforts to integrate him with his friend group, but i digress), but i'm still really stuck on luke claiming bruno's actions were "one or two mistakes." i can't truly view that as anything but naivety, especially in this situation where the risk isn't only applied to him, but to people around him, too, for continuing to give a known untrustworthy person a chance if bruno will lock him in a storage room and make him memorise an impossible number of scripts on purpose, what else is he willing to do and how much farther is he willing to go? in the end, he still didn't come clean about that picture when he had the opportunity.

now, luke can't be aware of this, but i think he isn't lending enough credence to andrew's concerns and it's a little unfair because he's already seen evidence of bruno sabotaging him i don't think andrew has been perfect in all of this, and even andrew knows he hasn't had the healthiest approach to his clinginess, so to speak, but luke is simply too trusting here. he doesn't need to go full nuclear or anything, but i didn't really see an indication that he would be more cautious around bruno after this, which is lending to my, and i imagine others', frustration with him in this chapter. but all we can do now is wait to see what happens next, so i won't make too many snap judgements and maybe he'll prove me wrong.
