I really like how non neurotic the uke is. He is a mature, rational, emotionally well regulated guy (which is rare to see in bl manhwas, the ukes are typically drowning in their own insecurities and inferiority complex) who understands Moogyum's situation and disposition even though his own love is unreciprocated. It's absolutely reasonable that moogyum prefers casual relationships to serious ones, given he is a big global athelete star who needs to keep his focus on his game to be able to perform well, his ambition and dedicated effort is praiseworthy. He is disciplined, considerate and a good friend, a good student, despite his own unfortunate background. And hajoon knows how to draw boundaries so that moogyum can retain his focus on his game, he takes his position as his coach seriously. Moogyum at the moment is feelings things he has never felt before, so even though he is trying to not get attached, he definitely is. He carefully looks for Hajoon's reactions when he does something for him, and gets disappointed when it's not something he expected. What this shows is that he is trying to gauge uke's reactions and the depth of Hajoon's feelings for him and that itself is an indicator of deeper bonding than hookup sex. It's cute that he is slowly falling for Hajoon without realizing it, and that is completely in character for him. Of course the angst that the writer wrote is delicious, where the uke keeps getting a romance reality check, it does makes me feel a bit sad for the uke, given how likeable and honest he is, but it's obvious it will all come together at the end, the joy is in watching how as long as the writer maintains the pacing of the narrative. But that's the thing, that the seme haters on this comment section might benefit from. Just because one likes the uke doesn't automatically make the seme a cruel insensitive bastard. Their dynamic is realistic and functioning well inside the character traits given to the characters by the author. It's possible to enjoy a story without carelessly assigning blame to a character. The uke knows where he stands with the seme and their relationship, so he finds moments of joy in what he knows is a temporary relationship. And seme finds comfort and relief in the uke, that he couldn't ever find in anyone he went out with prior. That it a good start of a relationship that goes beyond a skin deep relationship. It's not just the seme's face card the uke likes, like so many other bl manhwas, he appreciates him for so much more which makes his feelings for him well rounded and mature. And the seme likes the uke for his best qualities too, his mature outlook, his well balanced personality, his professionalism, which really does make the seme's challenging and stressful job easier. They are well suited to each other and they will realize it eventually. But this give and take is what makes a good relationship, and a good read.
