I dont undestand what the ML sees in the FL or why he has been so hung up and in love with her all these years. She's dim, gloomy and not very Interesting. All she does is wallow in self-pity and pout. He is wasting himself with this FL. Even the FL's parents know the guy can do so much better. Yeah her parents are exploitative pricks but they arent wrong in that regard.
