it’s honestly amusing how they preach that ‘it’s all just fiction,’ yet become disproportionately defensive the moment someone points out that the story they enjoy or love blatantly contains rape. they proudly claim to ‘know how to separate fiction from reality,’ but somehow can’t handle their supposedly ‘handsome,’ ‘rich,’ and ‘charming’ male lead being called what he actually is– a RAPIST. the irony is that in defending these narratives so aggressively, they end up normalizing the very thing they insist they understand is wrong. because really, why get so offended if what we’re saying isn’t true? i suppose being a yaoi fetishist does something quite remarkable to one’s critical thinking skills.
