I think he has turned into a psychopath because Killer whales are supposed to live in a vast ocean in pods. Not in a little pool by itself. He was most probably kidnapped as a baby as he's been living in the tank for 10 years and hasn't learnt proper socialising like he should have in the sea. Reminds me of the captive orca who killed it's instructor because it went mad after being forced live in a tiny tank like this alone for years and perform shows for humans.
