I suprisingly liked reading this. I thought it would've been too heavy to read, it was a bit but nothing unbearable.
But I do have a few things to point out. The Skylar's r*pe scene. It was done well in the sense of not showing too much and making it triggering and graphic. It still getting the point across and the atmosphere and impact. But what did it bring to the story? It wasn't talked about later on and didn't seem to have an impact on his life afterwards in any way. His bullying burdened him to this day and effected his decisions but somehow the rape was just grazed over. So I think it was very unnecessary and made the story feel even heavier and hard to read. Beating him while his friend was watching was enough to get the point across and be the thing that caused him to be the way he is now. Maybe he never faced that trauma and buried it deep down but I would've liked to see even that happen because reading it made it seem like oh it happened and oh it's just fine not a big thing.
Also. The fact that Skylar still liked the person who did all those things to him, that can absolutely happen because our brains work in weird ways. But there wasn't a point where he was like oh... He did that to me, why do I still like him. It never seemed like he blamed him for the things that happened. Which can happen as well but in the story he got over his trauma so this feels like a very big thing to glaze over since he was the cause of almost all of it.
I do think there should've been side stories because they just got together in the end and we don't get to see them in a relationship or happy together almost at all (/TДT)/
