i think despite the fact that i wouldn’t like my partner removing their tattoos to fit in with society. i understand korean society has a lot of stigma against them. and from what we’ve learned the ml reasoning for getting the tattoos were more an act of defiance then actual want of the tattoos. which is why he’s willing to lose them, for our girl and to better his career. in a way he’s closing the chapter on his younger self need to defy his father’s expectations and fighting norms of fitting in. he’s maturing and realized he doesn’t need the tattoo to fight that. he can just do that by doing what he wants, and be who he wants. so he doesn’t need the physical (the tattoo) to do that anymore.
