I wouldn’t call it a “gem” in the sense that I think it’s amazing and one of my favorites, but I do appreciate that it’s different from what I normally read. Everyone in it is a red flag in their own way, and while some might see it as just a smutty yaoi, I think it actually shows how abuse (physical, mental, etc.) can become a vicious cycle. It’s definitely not sweet. There’s a lot of manipulation. But it’s memorable and feels like it has a message, even if that wasn’t the author’s intention. But I might be alone in thinking this way about it lol.
