I was curious so I went to Twitter... never again.
There's nothing romantic about TJ and Ian's relationship that explains the reactions I was reading on Twitter for the jewelry hahaha like, I like the boys too, I know what those earrings and necklace mean, but c'mon... TJ's winning? Really? Ian's miserable, stressed and anxious but people care more about their ship than the story at this point. Well good for them but...
TJ wanted Ian by his side so much, in his mind he did everything so they could be together and Ian was paying him back by leaving him, that TJ send people after Ian and Ian ended up with a broken leg and TJ never told him anything. He destroyed his dreams of freedom, kept silent and Ian stayed with him because of a mix of love and guilt because of what TJ has become 'because of him'. Ian still believes he cause those around him misery. But of course, when Ian called him out about the broken leg incident and saw TJ's face that clearly showed how shocked he was realizing that Ian knew all along... at the end, Ian was the one who got all guilty of making him do that face... the poor boy is brainwhashed.
They've been deceiving each other and they use sex as a coping mechanism because of their inability to end things between them, to accept that they've changed too much, there's too much history and their lack of honesty. It's just too difficult.
Ofc they can be toxic together but the narrative doesn't seem to go that way. But who knows. It would be pretty dissapointing not seeing Ian happy and in peace. Not coming back to the same repulsive circle of crime, abuse and codependency
