Here's the thing.... (Ch 26)

As someone who grew up in a dysfunctional family where members are cutting each other off, we got to remember.

You can't force your family to stop talking to other family members. Here me out.

Like Byul said. He doesn't know what his mom went through. He didn't live through that trauma.

Was Byul's grandma toxic. Hell yes.

Is Byul's interaction with grandma causing any rift with his mama? No, I don't mean hiding their get togethers and being found out. I mean is Byul disrespecting his parents due to shit his grandmama saying. Doesn't seem like it. Byul loves the shit out of his parents.

Here's when it becomes a problem:
* If grandmama tries to use Byul to get back into Mama's life
* If grandmama plays the victim causing Byul's view of his parents to deteriorate affecting their relationship
* If Byul starts talking about grandmama to mama, when she obviously is still feeling traumatized.
* If Byul tells grandmama information about mama that grandmama uses against mama later on.

None of these seem to be happening. So I don't see a problem with Byul seeing grandmama.

Forgiveness and all that shit needs to happen on Mama's terms. And if no one forces anyone out of their corners, peace can maintain.
