Season 1 JK would never even consider of going to an amusement park with Dan in the first place lol; or trying his best to go on scary rides just to make Dan happy (even though he was scared shitless) and refusing to go back to the hotel; or gifting Dan anything, let alone a cute giant Teddy Bear; or feeling relaxed and not nervous before a match (first time ever) just bc he gets to spend time with Dan; or wishing that the moments between them could last forever; or wondering what’s even going on in Dan’s mind (he wonders if Dan is having as much fun as he does), etc.
If that’s not development, idk what is. I’m not saying he’s a total completely changed person, cause’ he still get a longgg way to go. But it’s so tone dead of you to say that after reading this chapter lol, almost everything in this chapter is “a first” to jk, all of this experiences and feelings and actions. Change doesn’t happen over night, there’s development whether it’s big or small
