still not sure what JK's jinx is exactly, but I'm glad that we are finally getting foreshadowing that it's not having sex before a match. JK is obviously using sex as an outlet and/or temporary substitute for something he's lacking, and i think JK just needs his rock. someone who is reliable, compassionate, and acts with reason, all of which are Dan ! Not one person can fix everything that's wrong with someone, that takes self refinement, but Dan is a start and an indivial who will hopefully become a constant in JK's life.
I'm really hoping that the author knows that JK has to sincerely, SINCERELY apologize (verbally specifically, not just through actions) in order for this redemption to end up well recieved by the general audience
