How I loathe Gumyeong. He's the typical character who's never been denied anything at home except emotional affection and his parents' approval, I suppose especially his mother's, since he clearly has mommy issues. His narcissism and need to control everything make him cling to Bekhe like a pest, since Bekhe is like his personal puppy. He doesn't even see him as an equal; he simply manipulates and constantly abuses him because it's a way to inflate his ego. I felt especially sad when Il Woo asked Bekhe if he was being abused, and I think it was the first time in his life he confronted that reality. Bekhe is aware of his codependency and believes his own lies. He knows perfectly well that what's there isn't love, but he can't help but think of it as escapism. In the end, hope turns out to be the worst of evils.
