Without offense but is there an ongoing problem with reading and comprehension issues?
I’ve noticed the last year how people in this site get immediately impatient or just read with their eyes closed.
Is this the start of the death of literacy? Or are people just more lazy in general

I know. And it's so agitating to see these comments because???? This plot???? Is complicated to you!???? I haven't even read pearl boy even then I can make sense of everything. The author tries to link the present with the past in this case slowly unraveling both. One said the characters look the same and im like!?????????????????????

Most of us started reading the fan translations before the official translations came out, and then there were two different versions of the fan scans, so it's understandable that people are confused.

You're saying as if they translate it into different dialogues in different translations

People just can't read, this isn't even a novel, it's a fucking manhwa and the characters are very straightforward so I don't know what is so hard to understand

The problem is YOU. Instead of clarifying or helping others to understand, you're getting on your high horse, saying, "Oh, I read and understand it, so everyone else should too." You're trying to build some superiority complex about it. I've seen you under multiple comments shaming others for not understanding and bragging that you do. It's like you're a crack head for attention or something. Do you not get enough attention from your parents at home or something? Do you need a cookie?

The cookie thing isn't nearly as clever as you think it is. There are some comments explaining the plot, just search for them instead of demanding answers and assuming that having reading comprehension is brag-worthy (it's a basic skill). If the plot is too hard to follow then drop it. Also, are you a child and assume that the other readers are too? What parents? Nobody is demanding any attention, just getting confused and frustrated because there's no discussion on the actual work. Every time this story gets updated there is an influx of comments asking about the plot which is a shame because it's actually an interesting story and we could speculate about many things but if people can't comprehend the basic then maybe it's better to drop the work and look for something else to read.

Nothing wrong with it, not everyone first language is english you know. But still, what genuinely scares me is this story actually it’s not that complicated, I’m just genuinely scared by how things has gotten worse in the last years, and more and more people just has no patience at all.
I do see your point of view though, but it’s also ok if you don’t agree with me.
That’s what different opinions are for! To be shared and then make us reflect.
Also, I want that cookies please

But what is hard to understand? What part is confusing? A lot of people say that you don't need to read PB but I would actually recommend reading it to understand the characters better - esp. Seunghyun's relationship with Jaeil and how it shapes his character.

(not trying to take anyone's side here or cause trouble or anything, just barging in real quick since I wanted to add my view too lol) I feel like thats an attention span problem, that many of this generation have without even wanting to. Since many scroll on tiktok for hours daily, obviously it'd be hard to concentrate on reading and actually understanding a story, even if it's a manhwa that's more pictures than words. And that's sad but it's the reality that most of us can't control since social media addictions are becoming worse by the day and are hard to get out of. I don't want to blame anyone, I also find myself needing to read a panel or chapter more than once to understand the plot sometimes, I just think it's super sad that most people don't even try anymore and just drop anything that they can't understand immediately.
