Noticing there's an odd amount of food should have atleast made you curious enough to trust the dukes warning especially since the vibes were off enough that she didnt even eat. Maybe if they didnt have her notice anything at all her stupidity would have been easier to belive as full obliviousness but bc she noticed these red flags and chose to ignore them now she just seems dumb as hell.
