Astair’s mother is the ultimate villain here.
Not only is she a homewrecking slut, she’s also dragged the Empress into a fight that has nothing to do with her because of crap that happened a century ago.
And you can’t say it’s okay for Lydiana to drag the Empress and her children into this fight but not okay for the Empress to go after Astair. That’s a, a double standard and b, not even true because Lydiana is the one who dragged Astair into this fight by targeting the Emperor in her homewrecking scheme to put her child on the throne.
The good ending is the Crown Prince on the throne. That way the evil that got dozens of people killed and traumatised does not get what she wants. Don’t wimp out on me, Madame Author.
