It is absolutely not victim blaming no one is blaming him for being raped wtf (or at least i hope so). But what i would say is he did not really do it in chang geon’s best interest at least not fully. Himself stated that he wanted to be the centre of his universe. Then promptly up and left as the situation became complicated. Did he deserve being raped? NOO. But did he handle everything at least even decently? Also no. He is more of a “it doesnt exist if i ignore it” kinda guy

He’s flawed but even if he had not totally perfect intentions he still cares about him : he thaught him how to read, write, gave him food, taught him about life, about how he must be confident !! So okey he wanted the ML to be focus on him but he was a child ! I can’t even think of this as being two faced ! He even went to bow hours to the emperor for the ML, he saved ML life time and time again ! I find it so gullible that you can’t see how the author is tryng to slightly put the blame on the MC for the arc to be “MC made him do this” just for the characters to be together. I’m sorry but wanting someone you cherish to see you as their only world may be quite selfish but it’s clearly not the same evilness that someone that off people, rape and so on… I get the ML and his trauma, I get him but i just don’t like this decision of the author
The MC did his best to help him as a kid, him also was just a kid that try his best to offer ML a bit of dignity so please don’t judge samyeong. He didn’t want to live, the emperor told him too, HE DID HIS BEST SO I REALLY CANT TOLERATE VICTIM BLAIMING
