This is basically a sign to STOP ABUSING CHILDREN.
he literally hit rock bottom cause EVERYONE around him treated him so horribly and left and he really thought Sam left him by choice when in reality if he disobeyed the kings order to get married he might of ACTUALLY been killed.
I would honestly go insane too, he's been treated so horribly since basically birth and that can really take a toll on someone especially so young cause even in that chapter he was probably around like 16-17 and now he's in his 20's ruling over a kingdom brutality bc of how many ppl treated him terribly, even the servants treated him terribly AND the citizens. No one was on his side until he met Sam and now that he's gone he has nothing left.
