I feel like tehir was just the catalyst in this whole thing. Kimoto would’ve gone down this path one way or another even without hearing tehir’s bullshit. He feels sick of his origins after learning about it from the database. Also he IS conscious in that demon form which shows he is not so pure and cutesy after all!

Well Tehir went into this spiral because of what Jin did to him, but who knows maybe Tehir would've still done the same things even if Jin didn't attack him.
