Both the red-haired and black-haired father characters annoy me. If the fathers had their own separate stories? Fine. I'd have different thoughts. However, their personalities irritate me greatly, and I can't like or sympathize with them. Take, for example, the black-haired father and his son – he constantly felt and saw a father who was cold, and emotionally unavailable. He clearly blamed his family for his regrets. And then the same father is seen behaving completely differently, starting his "new dream family" with his ex-lover – I think I would have vomited from disgust at the sight of that if I were his child from his first marriage.
(Don't get me wrong, their side story is fine, but this whole connection and messed-up relationship is just weird. I also used a lot of mental shortcuts.)
