It’s confirmed on Korean Webtoon that the author is a woman around the FL’s age. The story isn’t misogynistic it actually highlights how Korean society treats and view women in their 30s. The author never glorifies gross characters like Mincheol, Taehee, or other men who objectified the FL for her body in the Story .Taeha is meant to be morally questionable since it’s a dark romance, it had been hinted many time that his lies will have consequences. As for the art, i always thought artist seems like to type to be better at drawing men than women ( at lot of them lack variety and got the same youthul round eyes and tiny lips and ). Let’s wait and see how the art style will evolves and mature overtime, especially since it's her first work , instead of making baseless judgments about someone who we know nothing About.
Thanks for your comment.
I dislike her art because she suffers from the same face syndrome. Even the step mother of the male lead looks like her son and husband and step son.
And dark romance is actually misogynistic and predatory. Taehee is not a morally grey character. He is a stalker.
And i agree with you that this work tackles how women in their 30's are badly treated and women overall, but female artists can be victims of patriarchy and throwing women under the bus for profits and because they brainwashed by patriarchy.
Like plastic surgery.
I may continue in the future, aka 1 or 2 years, the story and hope the author will make their female characters addressing the ill treatments that those garbage men are giving
Beom family members looking alike is intentional and is part of the story and their family aesthetic, so I don’t mind it. For the other characters, I can see and agree about some face syndrom in her female designs, but as i said it’s the author’s first work there’s plenty of room for growth, and lots of rookie cartoonists go through major art evolution over time. But regardless despite these flaws i found her art pretty and good for someone who is making her first webtoons , there are lot of artist who got a straight up ugly art in their first Season before improving.
Not all dark romance are misogynistic and problematic, there are two categories one that about psychological drama with character having morally unconvetionnal, one that straight up gross with glorified abusive ml. This one is in the first category and is actually very tame and innocent compared to others dark romance we got nowadays. Taeha isn’t a green flag sure, but he’s nuanced ,and far milder than most dark-romance MLs, and he has never been abusive to her , even when he stalked her there was a limit he knew to not cross, the dark romance aspect focuses more on the characters’ psychological struggles because of their messed chilhood and , the age gap, and their messy dynamics rather than a abuse, . Plus, all the smut between both MCs has been consensual so far.

I deeply hope that the new character is a teen, and not an infantilized grown adult because it will expose the fetishes of the author.
I can't anymore. Drop it.
It's not the pacing, but the unaddressed misogyny and the male lead feels too predatory.
