Jiho's friend Chungi made me so mad. He is the one who's not gonna change. IF he was a good person for him he would've told him earlier that he felt so bad about those things and SUPPORTED him so he felt safe coming out.
Being gay isn't easy. You can't assume someone is gonna come out if you don't support them and give them a proper reason to. Like he is LIVING with his parents who you don't know at all how they are going to react. And as he expected his dad didn't react well at all and became physically violent.
Inwoo is clearly the better choice for him, he also clearly expressed that he was that safe place to return to once he came out. It's not a magic fix either. People are homophobic so it takes time to show that side outwards. It also takes courage to push fowards from the other person and encourage JUST LIKE inwoo is doing. Not saying he is perfect but much better in my opinion.
I really hate the Chungi. Inwoo usually thinks before he speaks really hurtful words. AND Jiho's friend continued to try to destroy their relationship.. He hasn't changed at all. I'm writing this as I'm reading so my opinion could change but so far... nope just no. I finished the story and I still don't really like him but I think he did improve at the end but still the things he did.. It did distract me seeing him act different but remembering what he did at the start and during the story (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻
One of the sisters too. Calling him weird and asking him why he can't be normal. Even if you say oh you don't mean that, that most likely sticks with the person. Jiho already sees himself as wrong and weird. Chapter 54 'LIVING A FEW DAYS LIKE THAT WAS EXHAUSTING, BUT HE MUST'VE SPENT HIS ENTIRE LIFE THAT WAY...' -Jiho's mom. I love how understanding she is. I love how accepting she was and actually tried to understand what his son was going through. She really tried to support him as best she could ( ◜‿◝ )♡
I love how raw Inwoo can be with his emotions. I know so far he isn't communicating everything he is feeling but just the fact that he is saying 'i'm still a mess' holds so much just within that sentence and let's Jiho know he's not okay and struggling. It must be really hard watching from the sidelines knowing Jiho has a family that loves him and all he can depend on is him to get love. He doesn't know how to be loved. I really hope he gets his happy ending and healing. Chapter 85. I really love that he went and got professional help!!! A lot of mangas just brush past that. He really is trying to handle his past and move past it. I love the slow improvements and his happy ending ಥ╭╮ಥ Him also talking it out with his mom and getting that understanding was just so amazing (⊃。•‿•。)⊃
'THEY SAY THE PARENTS' LOVE FOR THEIR CHILDREN IS THE STRONGEST OF ALL, BUT I GUESS THAT'S NOT ALWAYS THE CASE.' It shows that the author does really have an understanding what an unhappy family can really look like. I think that is what makes the story feel even more realistic and heartbreaking.
The proposal, I felt so happy and I almost cried. They really did get their happy ending after both of them did the work to heal their wounds (╥﹏╥)
The author is so good at writing. I think it showed emotions and things that happened in a realistic way. I don't think I've read a manga (manwha) before that had this much of an impact with all the emotions and ugh (つ✧ω✧)つ It was a heavier read but definetely enjoyed it, especially the end.
